Our fourth graduation spotlight features Macie Dill from Freeburg High School.
Macie will be attending Murray State University this fall to study Equine Science.
When reflecting on her year in CEO, Macie shared:
“This year, I grew in the area of creativity. I used to be so stuck on the same two services and one central idea for my business, but once I allowed myself to think outside the box and be more creative, everything started flowing. After my mentor, Vern Hamm, opened my eyes to the possibility of profit in other services, so many new ideas and possibilities began forming. I learned that I always need to keep expanding and allowing myself to think creatively in business.”
“Another skill I developed through CEO was stranger confidence. Stranger confidence means having the confidence to speak to strangers without hesitation. After meeting so many new people and spending hours with them, I gained the ability to confidently walk up to a stranger and start a conversation. This new skill will help me a lot in my business by allowing me to reach potential customers.”
One of the exciting things to watch in CEO is when students begin to trust themselves and step outside of their comfort zones, and Macie truly embraced that growth this year. Her creativity, confidence, and willingness to challenge herself will serve her well in everything ahead.
Congratulations, Macie. We are proud of you and excited to watch your next chapter unfold.
