Our 14th Intentional Act of Kindness comes from Taylor Cahill of Mascoutah High School, and it is a beautiful reminder of the power of words and gratitude.
Taylor is a bright and energetic presence in our classroom. She is a hard worker with an unwaveringly positive spirit, juggling three jobs while always showing up with a smile. With her heart set on a future in marketing, Taylor has a natural gift for connecting with people and making them feel seen.
In the Silver Creek Area CEO Program, handwritten thank-you notes are one of our regular practices. We believe in the impact of slowing down, being intentional, and expressing gratitude — and Taylor took that lesson and used it as a springboard for her act of kindness.
She chose to write handwritten letters to the people who have shaped her life and helped make her who she is today.
She wrote to Coach Andre, the person who helped her fall in love with volleyball. After experiencing unimaginable loss, he pushed forward and became a powerful advocate for mental health — inspiring Taylor to become an advocate as well.
She wrote to Mrs. Flores and Mrs. Renth, teachers from Holy Childhood School who taught her life lessons far beyond the classroom and helped draw her closer to God, leaving a lasting impact on every student they touched.
She wrote to Coach Kloess, who came into her life during her junior year and opened doors beyond Taylor’s imagination, helping her discover a true passion for coaching through belief and opportunity.
And she wrote to Mrs. Renth, her high school counselor, who stood by her side through both the highest highs and the lowest lows, offering constant support and care.
Taylor’s act of kindness wasn’t loud or public. It was thoughtful. Intentional. Rooted in gratitude.
We love seeing students take lessons learned in CEO and carry them into the world in meaningful ways. Taylor’s words will be kept and remembered — a reminder that sometimes the most powerful kindness is simply letting someone know how deeply they matter. ❤️
