Our 11th Act of Kindness comes from David Winters of Mascoutah High School, and it reflects the quiet kind of leadership that often goes unnoticed — but means everything.
David is one of those people who doesn’t seek the spotlight. He’s thoughtful, steady, and adds positivity in subtle ways. Many of the videos you see our class share? David is behind the camera, capturing moments so others can be seen. His hobbies reflect that same care and patience — mechanics, trail riding, boating, and repairing and improving engines. He enjoys taking something and making it better.
That’s exactly what his act of kindness did.
When one of his friends, Destiny, graduated early and prepared to leave, David wanted to make sure her final days of high school ended on a meaningful note. So he bought her dinner — not as a big gesture for attention, but as a way to celebrate her accomplishment and give her one last good high school memory.
It was simple. Intentional. Thoughtful.
David’s act of kindness reminds us that sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t loud. They’re created by people who notice others, value relationships, and choose to show up in quiet, generous ways.
Congratulations to Destiny — and thank you, David, for showing us that kindness doesn’t have to be big to be powerful. ❤️
