Follow along as we share our students’ Intentional Acts of Kindness this holiday season! ❤️
Here’s #4 of 20—Timothy’s act of kindness reminds us that giving can come straight from the heart and from personal experience.
Timothy James, a senior at Mascoutah High School, is someone who leads with empathy. Between serving as president of his school’s Black Student Union, training in kickboxing, and working while going to school, he still finds the time to notice the needs of others.
For his act of kindness, Timothy looked around his home and asked a simple question: What can we give that someone truly needs right now? He gathered items his family no longer used and added some of his own, donating four bags of clothes, shoes, bed sheets, and purses.
This act was especially meaningful to Timothy because he knows what it’s like to need these things. His family once relied on thrifted and secondhand clothing themselves, and now he’s giving back to others in a similar situation—offering warmth, comfort, and a little dignity during the cold winter months.
Timothy’s thoughtful giving reminds us that kindness rooted in understanding and experience carries a deep, lasting impact. It’s more than donating items—it’s sharing care, compassion, and a piece of your heart with someone else.
❤️ We are so proud of Timothy for showing how meaningful and powerful intentional acts of kindness can be!
