Kindness That Lives On

Our second student story comes from Scott Stoelzle, who was born and raised in O’Fallon and attends O’Fallon Township High School. Scott is a dedicated student, athlete, and leader—serving as his hockey team captain, staying involved in FCA, and constantly challenging himself through sports, academics, and leadership opportunities. But what stands out most about Scott is the heart behind his actions.

For his Act of Kindness, Scott visited a first-grade classroom at Moye Elementary with a purpose far deeper than it may have appeared at first glance. He delivered 72 candy canes and read a book about giving and paying it forward—then challenged the students to take that message and pass it on themselves.

Those 72 candy canes were intentional. Scott shared them in honor of his friend and teammate, Colin Brown, who passed away late last November. Through this simple but powerful gesture, Scott chose to remember his friend by spreading joy, kindness, and hope to others.

In a room full of first graders, Scott honored a life, shared a lesson about generosity, and planted seeds of kindness that will continue long after that day. His act reminds us that kindness can be both a tribute and a legacy—and that paying it forward can start at any age.

We are incredibly proud of Scott for turning remembrance into impact and for challenging others to carry kindness forward. ❤️
